The One App You Shouldn’t Rely on in South Korea
If you’re traveling from the UAE to South Korea, here’s one practical detail that can save you time every single day:
Google Maps does not function properly for navigation in South Korea.
Walking routes are often incomplete. Public transport directions can be inaccurate. Subway exit numbers are usually missing. And in cities like Seoul, exit numbers matter — choosing the wrong one can mean an extra 10–15 minutes of walking.
This becomes a real issue if you have skincare appointments, restaurant bookings, shopping plans, or KTX train departures scheduled tightly in one day.
Instead, download Naver Map or KakaoMap before your flight. Both work in English and provide accurate subway routes, correct exit numbers, live bus times, and proper walking navigation. These are the apps locals use.
South Korea’s transport system is excellent — but it runs on local platforms, not Google.
A small adjustment before departure makes your entire trip smoother.
